A Few Days Away - Wednesday & Thursday

We got to spend the last few days away for a mini vacay. Jas and the kids picked me up promptly at 3:30 on Wednesday to begin our adventure and we got back home last night.

Our trip in pics - lots of fun, laughter, memories and recall from two adorable little kiddos.

Notice Eli's bump; gotten within 10 minutes of our arrival to our hotel. Boys will be boys.

Dinner Time - Uno's Pizza Bar & Grill

Photo taken before my very large iced tea was refilled and promptly spilled by Kenna. Funny considering we were on vacation, in case you were wondering.

Day 1 started with a "Dine with Me" Character Breakfast. Both generally loved it and were pretty excited when their Sesame Street favs started walking around and stopping by our table. Kenna was pretty scared of Zoe and even a little of Bert when they got to close to her. Coincidentally, this was the only time other than the shows and parade at night where we actually saw the characters. Seems Dine with Me events were the place to be...or that it was too daunting for them to be prancing around and hugged by a bunch of littles in the scorching heat (it wasn't that bad, but this is our guess).

Big Bird's Nest - a series of nets going every which way several stories up. Little Monkey Girl loved it with her Daddy and went through the whole thing giggling. Eli, on the other hand, not so much.

At this point in the day, the heat began to get the best of Eli. When icecream cones and the mist stations couldn't do the trick, we headed back to our hotel for lunch and naps. Proved to be a very smart decision, as our return to the park for more rides, shows, dinner and the Character Parade until closing time was again a lot of fun. Shopping with the kids at the big store was also special - they were super excited and had distinct opinions of what they wanted and were so proud of what they picked out.

We headed back to the hotel with 2 very wound kids. Baths and playtime couldn't wear them down until late! Sesame Place Part I was a blast and we were all excited for Past II.

Can You Tell Me How to Get?....

The Party...in Pictures [many taken from my cousin, Krista Keiter]

The adorable cake and cupcakes - courtesy of Aunt D. E & M loved them [and so did their mommy :)].

I have roughly 550 more photos of this extra special Sesame Street party thanks to my cousin taking that stress away from me and capturing the kids in action on their big day. While Jason and I spent days preparing, it turned out exactly like I had hoped and planned; vibrant colors, great photos and a party that E & M would recognize the characters. Fun to plan and enjoy!

Eli and McKenna had such a wonderful time with family and friends celebrating two amazing years, evidenced by their smiles, laughter and outright excitement. They are the joy of our lives and we are so thankful for the blessing and memories we've made as a family over the past two years. We look forward to making many more.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Elijah James and McKenna Grace. Your mommy and daddy are so in love with you.
